Use this template to analyze your product/service’s strengths and weaknesses and determine a tangible action plan based on the top results.


  1. Use the SWOT framework to determine your product/service’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
  2. After gathering your ideas in the matrix, discuss with you team and take a couple of the most impactful items in each box and move them so you have a clear vision of what they are.
  3. Use the most impactful items that you previously listed to answer some questions about your product/service. How can you use strengths to take advantage of opportunities? How can you overcome your weaknesses to access more opportunities? How can you manipulate your weaknesses to make threats less likely? How can you position your strengths to lower the possibility of threats?
  4. Use the answers to the previous questions to develop a strategic action plan going forward.
