Use this template when you need help defining shared expectations for various members of your team.


  1. Begin by designating roles within your team on the top and the side.
  2. After clarifying your roles, use the matrix to define the expectations you have for the other people in your team.
  3. After you finish filling out each box, take some time to reflect on both your and the team’s expectations. Do they match the current reality? How realistic are they?  What steps can be taken to achieve them?
